Staying safe, and reporting a job
How to spot a fake job, and how to tell us about one.
Signs of a fake job
- It asks you to pay — for training, a visa, equipment or anything else — before you are hired. A real employer never charges you to apply.
- It asks for your bank details, card number or a copy of your ID before you have an offer you can check.
- The pay is far above what similar jobs offer, for very little work.
- It pushes you to decide quickly, or to move the conversation to a private chat app.
When in doubt, open the employer’s own website and look for the job there.
Report a job
Every job page has “Report this job”. Choose the reason — it looks like a scam, it asks you to pay, it is closed, the details are wrong, it is a duplicate, it is offensive, it has a discriminatory requirement, or something else — and add a note if you like.
We review every report. A job that matches the patterns of known scams is held back from search until it has been checked.
