What employers in Egypt usually ask for

Many employers in Egypt read CVs in English, international companies, start-ups and outsourcing centres in particular, while government bodies and many local companies prefer Arabic. If you apply to both, keep one CV in each language rather than mixing the two on one page.

Egyptian CVs usually list the university and the year you graduated, and male Egyptian applicants are often asked about their military service status. Add it to your personal details when a post asks for it, and leave out what a post does not need, such as your marital status or a photo, unless it asks.

Questions

Should my CV for jobs in Egypt be in Arabic or English?
It depends on the employer: international companies and many private firms read English, and government bodies and many local companies prefer Arabic. When a post is written in English, an English CV is the safe choice.
Do I need to state my military service status?
Male Egyptian applicants are often asked for it. If a post asks, add it to the personal details at the top of your CV.
Where do these jobs come from?
From employers’ own career pages and from remote job boards. Each job links to its source, and the list is updated several times a day.
Do I need an account to search?
No. Searching and reading the jobs is free and needs no account. A free account lets you apply on Tabhar, save jobs and see how well your CV matches.
